Sharing Session: Macau Guangcai Porcelain: A Legacy of Inheritance and Development

Guangcai Porcelain (Canton porcelain), as one of the most significant export porcelains of China's Qing Dynasty, stands as an important testament to cultural exchange between China and the West during the 18th and 19th centuries. Its intricate craftsmanship has not only been inscribed on Macau’s 'Intangible Cultural Heritage List' but is also recognized as a national-level intangible cultural heritage craft. Mr. Lei Iat Po will guide the audience through the historical development of Guangcai porcelain-making techniques, while showcasing selected works to highlight the distinctive local characteristics of Macau’s Guangcai porcelain.
